Presenting your personal brand on-line
Today more than ever, job seekers need all the help they can get, to secure the most coveted roles.
A high-quality CV is a great start, but there is a lot more you can do, to improve your chances.
These days some recruiters are looking at more than CVs, in their quest to hire the best candidates.
More and more are also checking out applicants’ profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and LinkedIn . And what they see may influence the decision to interview or not.
This makes it all the more important to ensure that your ‘personal brand’ is presented positively, on-line.
Linkedin, in particular, is widely used by recruiters, to find out more about potential candidates. So, make sure your profile is up to date and reflects your successes, achievements and experience. Attach an appropriate, professional photograph.
Also, take a good look at your other on-line communications and see them through the eyes of a potential employer. Do they present you as the best candidate for the jobs you are applying for?
If not, amend anything that does not present you in the way you would like an employer to view you. It could make all the difference.
